Hi, I’m Anika Zaidi! I’m an aspiring filmmaker based in the New York City area who’s passionate about using cameras to show audiences a whole new perspective on life. My interests and experiences range from cinematography, photography, producing, and film direction. Outside of film, I’m very passionate about vocal music and sports!

From as early as I can remember, I loved music. At a young age my parents put in me into singing and piano lessons. I joined chorus in middle school and even picked up the viola too. My passion for singing kept blooming throughout middle and high school. I performed at my school's pep rally and homecoming, and participated in several Honors Choirs throughout the East Coast.

With strong passion in using the camera to deliver emotions to my audience, I am particularly drawn to evocative shot composition and framing. Here’s a collection of some of my photography works:
EXPERIENCE
I have always loved sharing my experiences with the world through a camera. From creating short YouTube style vlogs out of my living room at the age of 6, to a getting formal education in filmmaking techniques through early high school classes, I’ve been drawn to the ways I can use film to entertain and express myself. I have made films alongside great minds at the Jacob Burns Film Center, as well as through a 3 week intensive summer course in filmmaking at Columbia University, and have shared my short films at regional showings. I am continuing my formal education in filmmaking through an academic degree at New York University, whilst continuing to work on my personal projects to continue creating films that I love.
